Malaysia Error 2012 5 Sen Coin Doubled Die Obverse DDO

***And as far as Malaysian error coins are concerned, many come in very dramatic forms, with multiple unbelievable strikes, ridiculous double strikes of different years and ridiculous mules, but of course, by now, most, except the neophytes, know that these are nothing but so-called assisted-errors - real, bona-fide errors that have had a humanly helping hand and/or hands!
And, now we have a 'new' type of errors surfacing of late in the form known as 'Post Mint Jobs.' Look at one, use your grey matter and you would know what a Post Mint Job is.
The more dramatic the error is, mostly probably, they are humanly assisted, either inside the mint or outside or both.
'Believable errors' for Malaysian coins are mostly in the forms of double strikes, off-centre strikes, uniface strikes or doubled die errors.
And this 5 sen coin does have some nice doublings at the 'tower' of the top & at the top's strings.
According to the owner of this coin, he got it from the Sunday flea market up North known as the SP Plaza Pasar Lambak and what a good find.
By the way, could a Doubled Die error coin be humanly assisted and/or a post mint job? Very unlikely, otherwise, there would be a deluge of these online & offline.
But since there is still a huge market for assisted errors & Post Mint Jobs' errors, the factories producing these would surely continue to be busy as the proverbial saying of a sucker being born every second seems to ring true.

The United States 1 Cent Error Off-Centre Strike

***An Error 1 Cent coin from The United States with an Off-Centre Strike of around 70%, at least.

But, I suppose such an error esp. from the American 1 cent series is nothing to gloat about as after all there are so many errors churned out from this series due to the abundance of coins struck in this denomination of 1 cent.

And, I suppose the costs for producing this 1 cent coin must be more than 1 cent! I am still wondering why the Feds still bother to mint this smallest denomination series.

Malaysia 1976 10 Sen Missing Obverse Error

***This Error 10 sen coin dated 1976 must be one collectible that has been in my possession for the longest time - at least 30 years now, if not more.
As a school-boy, I found this coin in some loose change and I was very excited, then, to have come across this freak coin, whereby its Obverse is missing or almost missing. I would grade this coin as Good EF to AU & it still retains its original patina on the Reverse.

It's amazing that this coin is still with me after all these donkey years considering the number of times that I have moved house & during the brief period that I was in Europe.

And obviously, unlike the current Bunga Raya series, this 1976 coin is definitely an unassisted pure mint error, & and which is further emphasised by the presence of the light silhouette of the actual missing design, a typical feature I am told for such an error.

Straits Settlements 1899 10 Cents Coin Cud Error

*** This is an unusual cud error 10 cents coin dated 1899 from The Straits Settlements.

A cud is, of course, the surface area that has been damaged & which resembles a blob.

However, the real question is, obviously, at least, to yours truly, is this a real error coin or it's a man-made one?

I got this coin from a pile that I bought and I only paid 1 Yankee Dollar for this coin - I obviously didn't purchase this coin as an error coin at a high premium. I am wondering if there's any error coin expert out there who could enlighten me if I am holding an error or a make-believe one as I am really a neophyte when it comes to trying to figure out a bona fide or fake error coin from the Straits Settlements' era.

Malaysia 1967 Error 50 Sen Coin MILLED EDGE/WITHOUT SECURITY EDGE

***This is the ever-popular 50sen coin dated 1967 from Malaysia with a Milled/Reeded Edge, instead of the usual one with the Security Edge. This coin is in Good EF condition.

Only 50 sen coins dated 1967, 1968 & 1969 came with The Security Edge, while the rest thereafter came with the words bearing the Central Bank's name on the coins' edges.

Market grapevine has it that only about 40 pieces or so of this freak variety exist.

Malaysia 2007 10Sen Error Coin Capped Die & Brockage Error UNC

***A marvellous 10sen error coin dated 2007 from Malaysia in Uncirculated condition with a Huge Capped Die & a Full Obverse Brockage error!

The Obverse shows the full mirror-image of the Reverse instead of its normal design.

There is, also, a conspicuous crack die error at around 5 o'clock of the Reverse.

Malaysia 2007 Error 50sen Coin Missing Lettering

*** An error 50sen coin dated 2007 with the word "Bank" missing.

I got this coin from an automated parking-ticket vending machine as change almost 18 months back and I strongly believe that this is a bona-fide freak coin that came from the mint.

It is in Good EF condition but with lots of bagmarks.

Malaysia Error Coin 10sen 1976 Uniface Strike

*** An error 10 sen coin from 1976 in Good EF condition with a Uniface Strike.
The design on the Obverse is almost missing. Only a slight silhouette of it could be seen, as is typically found in such similar uniface error coins.
There is still some original patina found on the Reverse of this coin.

Malaysia Error Coin 2006 1 Sen Off-Centre Light Broadstrike

** An excellent 1sen error coin dated 2006 in Uncirculated condition with a marvellous off-centred broadstrike error & with a light strike on the Reverse.

The 1sen coins were demonetised in 1997 & are no longer in use. Apparently, the costs for minting these 1sen coins are higher than the face value of these coins!

Malaysia 50 sen Error Coin Triple Strikes UNC

***This is definitely an unusual & seldom-seen uncirculated 50sen error coin with no date which has been struck 3 times at the edges on both the Obverse & Reverse.

This is a rather weird error coin and it has now a rather weird shape.

Malaysia 2006 10sen Off-Metal Error Coin

***This is an unusual uncirculated Off-Metal 10sen error coin from Malaysia dated 2006, which, I suspect, must have been struck on bronze-clad steel instead of on the usual copper-nickel planchet.

Only the now-demonetized 1 sen coins were struck on bronze-clad steel planchets.

Malaysia 2006 20sen Off-Metal Error Coin

***This is an Off-Metal error 20sen coin dated 2006 that must have been struck on a bronze-clad steel planchet that was meant for the 1 sen coin series.

The actual regular coin is struck on copper-nickel planchets.

A rather unusual error coin!
