Pick #127a 1000 Seriboe Roepiah Netherlands Indies Japanese Occupation PMG Choice Fine 15

The biggest denomination of 1000 Rupiah numismatics paper from the Netherlands Indies' Japanese Occupation stable, a note that was issued, but apparently, never put to use or never had the chance to be put to use.

As such, most of this 1000 Rupiah or rather Roepiah issue are found in very good condition & the worst condition one could find would always be in AUNC condition & usually any piece up for sale online would most of the time, if not all of the time, either be in AUNC or UNC itself.

The rag featured here thus is unusual, rare if you love this word that much, as it's in a well circulated condition with all the complete signs of thorough & proper natural circulation & above all, credit should be given to PMG for having graded it a deserving Choice Fine 15.

Paradoxically, if this issue was never put into circulation as numismatics grapevine had us believe all these years, then, how did this note got itself so nicely circulated all over then Indonesia, or the so-called numismatics grapevine's talk is nothing but mere hogwash?!

Apparently, there are many fakes or rather forgeries of this issue but it's rather easy to detect a forgery copy as it has an 'extra feature' that the real McCoy doesn't have & as such, it will never be encapsulated by PMG as PMG seems to be experts in this issue as all the forgeries submitted to them apparently had all been returned in bodybags.

Pick #57 Malaysia 2017 60 Ringgit MRR 0011199 COURTESY AUTOGRAPH

A commemorative note from Malaysia issued in 2017 with one of its kind denomination of $60, with a total quantity issued of 60K pieces, which is considered a very huge issue & with its subsequent big free float in the open market.

The note featured herein not only carries the rather cute serial numbers of 0011199 but also, bears the autograph of the then Central Bank's Governor on the watermark area, with PMG's professional confirmation stated as "Courtesy Autograph."

Reliable numismatics grapevine has indicated that there are less than 5 pieces of such notes bearing the Autograph of the ex-Governor and that such a third party graded note with the Courtesy Autograph carries a very handsome premium in the range of 5 figures in the Malaysian numismatics world, but these could be just feel-good hearsay & "cafetaria numismatics talk".

However, if such a note were to be transacted at that "handsome" premium, say, via Heritage or Stack Bowers, then, of course, the so-called "numismatic talk" would no longer be mere "talk" but is now a newly set benchmark & a talk filled with very concrete numismatics substance.

Commonwealth Games $50 50 Dollars Pick# 45 PMG 68 EPQ MALAYSIA

2 pieces of the very common $50 polymer notes from Malaysia issued during the Commonweath Games almost 25 long years ago.

An extremely un-rare banknote as apparently 500k pieces were issued & that's considered as an extremely 'high mintage' issue numberswise.

Bought these pieces online for the price of 3 dozen packs of Marlboros as apparently they were listed therein for quite sometime without anyone interested; even with 3 zeroes, the serial numbers were considered not low enough as the very picky & serious collectors were looking for those with at least 5 zeroes so that the serial numbers can be qualified as low enough to these very serious & extremely discerning collectors.

Designwise, they look good with multiple attractive colors with rather extremely high strandard polymer sustrate used then.

Am now looking forward to getting one with 4 zeroes.

Anyone out there with an extra piece to share or rather banknotes to sell, do contact me at: malayastraits888@gmail.com
